Public Speaking Refinement

"Just wanted to report to you that, thanks in large part to you, my speaking engagement went beautifully! I was more excited than nervous and the employees seemed to really enjoy themselves. I can't say that I am eager to do it again soon, but it certainly took me a step beyond my comfort zone. You were a tremendous help in the very short time I gave you to teach me. The words you shared and the points you made were just what I needed to give me the confidence to speak in public. THANK YOU again for doing such wonderful work."

Thirty-minute and one-hour lessons are offered in public speaking refinement. Skill development is provided in the areas of:

  • Voice
  • Articulation
  • Presentation

The first session is spent evaluating which areas the client needs to improve, and if time permits, we begin working on the agenda for skill-building I have created during the evaluation.

In the area of Voice, we can work on improved voice quality, pitch, eliminate nasality, correct shortness of breath, and other breath related issues, increase volume, change a monotonous quality, and deal with issues concerning the care of the voice.

In the area of Articulation, we can work on pronunciation, succinct articulation of ideas, and organization of text.

In the area of Presentation, we work on performance anxiety management, poise, deportment (physical presentation skills), public and professional presentation skills, and expressiveness of delivery.

Speech Refinement

In this area, we also work on:
  • Clarifying foreign accents
  • Modifying regional and cultural accents
  • Changing the effects of speech impediments
  • Improving volume for all voices, including the aging voice
